what should you expect on sunday?

We want to make your experience at grace ridge church as worshipful and enjoyable as possible. We have tried to answer a few of the more common questions below, but please feel free to contact us with any other questions.

WHERE?
We have a ministry facility called THE VINEYARD CENTER at 761 Terrace St., Honesdale.  Our 9am Sunday service is held at the Vineyard Center which is handicapped accessible with plenty of parking.  You can also visit us at 201 10th Street in Honesdale, PA.  Sunday service is at 11am, and you can find plenty of parking in front of the church and around beautiful central park.   This location is also handicapped accessible.

WHEN ARE WORSHIP SERVICES?
We have two opportunities for corporate worship: 9am (The Vineyard Center, 761 Terrace Street) & 11am (201 Tenth Street).  The sermon is usually the same and is given by Rev. Lyle at both services.   We also have a service on Thursday nights @6pm at our chapel (201 Tenth Street).  This service includes a complimentary meal served after the message.

HOW LONG IS THE SERVICE?
Our worship services last about an hour and include praising Our Lord through song, responding to His Grace with our tithes and offerings, and deepening our relationship with Him through a 30 minute sermon.   Don’t rush out, though!  We always have warm cookies, coffee, tea and breakfast items after our services.  It’s a great time to talk and ask questions or just relax!

WILL YOU BE ASKED FOR MONEY?
No!  We pass a bucket during our announcements video, and we offer an online option to give, but your offering is between you and God.  We believe that God gives us everything we have and expects us to respond to Him by offering our time, talents and money for His holy purposes.    Through prayer, you will know when and what to give at grc.

WHAT STYLE OF WORSHIP CAN YOU EXPECT?
Reverend Lyle’s preaching is Bible-based, relevant and easy to understand.  His messages are recorded each week and posted on our website.  At our Vineyard Campus, music is similar to what you hear on Christian radio.  At the 10th Street Campus, we sing updated hymns, led by a piano, guitar, and worship choir.   Click here to listen to sermons or watch services!

WHEN IS COMMUNION SERVED?
We serve Holy Communion on the first Sunday of every month (at both locations).  All who have been baptized are welcome.

WHAT IS AVAILABLE FOR CHILDREN?
Vineyard Campus:  Child care is available at our 9:00am service at the Vineyard Center for children preschool and younger. In order to provide the best care possible, our nursery caregivers have all state recommended clearances. We have a paid staff, consisting of two experienced women who are present each week and who provide a safe and loving environment. We provide pagers and a secure check in/out system for parents’ peace of mind.  We also have busy bins and children’s bulletins available during worship services for school-age children.

10th Street Campus:  We have a cry room where parents can take little ones during the service if needed.  The service is shown on a TV monitor in the cry room, so you don’t have to miss a thing!

Inner Mission:   Inner Mission is our Sunday School program and is held at the Vineyard Center at 10am.  Children 4 and up are invited to take part in Bible learning, games and of course a little snack!   If your children are new to Inner Mission, please stop by the window in the lobby to register them.   They then proceed down the children’s hall for classes.  Pick up is at 10:45 in the gym.  (Parents can enjoy coffee, tea, snacks or breakfast in the cafe during Inner Mission.)

WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR?
You’ll find that most men and women are dressed casually at our services. While some may be dressed up, many are wearing jeans and t-shirts. We’re not a church that worries about how you look on the outside! Whatever you’re wearing, we’ll be glad to see you!

WHAT DENOMINATION IS GRC?
As of October 3, 2015, grc is now an ECO church. ECO is otherwise known as the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians. To find out more about this denomination, please visit www.eco-pres.org.

HOW CAN YOU FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THIS CHURCH?
Our Welcome Team is here to help!   Anyone wearing a grc t-shirt and a lanyard can point you in the right direction.  You will also find information and answers at our Guest Services desk.  Don’t hesitate to visit there before or after worship.

Please explore the rest of this website to get a feel for the ways God works in our church.  If you have questions, you may want to contact our Director of Ministries, Emily Wilken (ewilkengrc@gmail.com) or contact the Church Office to begin receiving updates and emails.  We look forward to getting to know you!
